E85 Cars, Trucks and Vehicles
E85 cars, trucks and vehicles are in great demand. The awareness regarding the need for alternative fuels is spreading at a great extent among vehicle consumers. There is a good range of choice from cars and SUVs to pickup vans and mini vans. In 2007, there were 27 different models, which were E85 ethanol capable. In 2006, there were only 20 such models and few models in 2000. These E85 cars, trucks, and vehicles can run efficiently on usual gasoline as well as on E85 ethanol blend without any modification or difference in performance.
Another name for E85 cars, trucks and vehicles is flex fuel vehicles. The name stands for the ability to run on both types of fuel. E85 cars, trucks and vehicle manufacturers do not charge extra for the E85 ethanol capable vehicle versus the normal gasoline model. E85 fuels have almost the same prices for a gallon as the usual 87- octane gasoline.
Features of E85 Cars, Trucks and Vehicles:
E85 cars, trucks and vehicles use 85% ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline. Ethanol is derived from plant sources (mainly corn) and are easily processed and distilled in refineries. Ethanol is a renewable source of energy having potential to reduce America’s foreign oil dependence.
E85 ethanol produces few harmful exhaust gases as compared to the usual gasoline models. E85 cars, trucks and vehicles help in preserving the limited reserves of fossil fuels on earth. The maintenance cost of E85 cars, trucks and vehicles is smaller then normal gasoline models.
U.S. automakers have considered making E85 vehicles, for conservation and independence purposes. American automakers have already built many E85 ethanol flex – fuel vehicles. These automakers have a plan to sell two million more E85 cars, trucks and vehicles on the road this year.
Advantages of Buying E85 cars, trucks and vehicles:
E85 vehicles emit low levels of greenhouse gases. This in turn, helps to reduce the level of global warming. E85 vehicles pollute less than the usual gasoline models. They also support the energy independence of America.
E85 cars, trucks and vehicles have a simple structure. They can run on 100% E85 ethanol or 100% gasoline or on a blend of both. Using alternative fuel does not change the performance of the vehicle. Horsepower ratings of E85 engines also remain the same.
E85 cars, trucks and vehicles are eco friendly. E85 cars, trucks and vehicles emit lower amounts of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Fuel used for E85 cars and trucks is biodegradable, non-toxic and water-soluble. E85 vehicles that run on E85 fuel contain less contaminant then unleaded gasoline or diesel.

E85 not only lowers gas mileage, it reduces engine life. The production of the E85 is harder on the environment than gasoline, and is responsible for global famine and food shortages. How many people will die in the 3rd world this year because of food shortages caused by E85? 100,000? 1 million? 100 million? Who cares if it makes us feel “green”, right?
E85 is a politically correct non-solution to “alternative fuel” with no actual benefit… yea, that’s just what we need.
